Review : La Cantine du Faubourg Dubai Launches Oyster Soirée!
Not knowing about La Cantine du Faubourg Dubai is like being unaware of the clouds in the sky. On a bustling Friday night, we decided to immerse ourselves in the magic of their new addition to the menu: the Oyster Soiree.
Nestled on the first floor of the prestigious Emirates Towers hotel, La Cantine du Faubourg remains as stylish and charming as ever. Though some time had passed since our last visit, the restaurant’s elegance continues to set it apart in a city filled with contenders. Entering this establishment feels like stepping into a realm of sophistication.
We were greeted warmly by the hostesses, whose genuine smiles and gracious welcome made a lasting impression. Our table, spacious enough for four, set the perfect scene for the evening ahead. As the night unfolded, the restaurant buzzed with energy, filled with well-dressed patrons and attentive staff seamlessly catering to everyone.
Our evening began with a glass of Marius, a delightful white wine from the South of France, served perfectly chilled, evident by the condensation on the glass. La Cantine du Faubourg’s commitment to an excellent wine selection was clear even in the house offering but yet we tried a rosé (just in case) then back to the refreshing white. Next, the Tsarskaya oysters arrived on a bed of crushed ice—plump, glistening, and chilled to perfection. Accompanied by a tangy lemon-shallot vinaigrette, they proved to be an exquisite and delicate aphrodisiac.
The creamy burrata quinoa salad, adorned with kale, apples, goji berries, and grated Parmesan, was a delightful medley of hearty grains and vibrant flavors, further enhanced by winter grapes. We couldn’t resist the warm, crusty mini baguettes from the freshly baked bread basket, which became an instant favorite. La Cantine du Faubourg seamlessly combines elegance with exceptional food and service, making every visit unforgettable.
Alongside the burrata salad, the yellowfin tuna ceviche was a standout. Its fresh, tangy profile perfectly complemented the creamy avocado, fragrant sesame oil, and crispy nori chips, creating a wonderful array of flavors and textures.
The Oyster Soiree serves as the ideal after-work retreat or a delightful precursor to an exceptional dinner at La Cantine du Faubourg. Just when we thought the experience couldn’t get better, our hostess surprised us with a French-inspired twist on classic mac and cheese—silky, decadent Comté cheese with slices of truffle. Finally, the creamy truffle and mushroom risotto left us thoroughly satisfied. As we savored our Marius and reflected on the evening, we found the allure of La Cantine du Faubourg almost irresistible, making it hard to say goodbye.
