limited-edition AP will be available to just 50 of the brand’s most loyal collectors
Audmemars Piguet has had a busy summer. Despite the pandemic it unveiled its brand new headquarters in Switzerland, as well as announced new Code 11.59 watches.
It has also taken the time to make something special for its most loyal collections, in the form of the self-winding Code 11.59 Flying Tourbillon Chronograph.
The watch combines a flying tourbillon with a fly back chronograph, two extremely complicated functions. The caliber 9252 movement is set in an 18-carat white gold case, over a skeletonized 3D dial. The face itself has more than 100 hand-polished angles.
On the case back the 9252 movement can be seen through a rhodium-toned 22-carat pink gold oscillating weigh.
This is the first time the brand has ever combined a flying tourbillon with a chronograph. Previously it has combined a tourbillon with a regular chronograph (but that was back in 1999 and the watch was limited to just 20 pieces).
The Code 11.59 is limited to just 50 pieces, all of which have been reserved for the brand’s biggest collectors. Each watch will cost US$261,520 (but we imagine most of these have already been spoken for).
