The Insider Reviews: Centara Mirage Beach Resort Dubai
A world of family fun perfectly positioned on the new Dubai Island’s Waterfront.
Nestled along the pristine shores of the newly developed Dubai’s Islands waterfront, the Centara Mirage Beach Resort Dubai is not just family-friendly; it’s practically tailor-made for families. Their tagline, “A world of family fun,” couldn’t be more accurate. Our recent visit left us raving to anyone with kids who would listen, and it’s easy to see why.
The highlight of our stay was access to the Mirage Family Club, a game-changer for parents with young children. This haven provided us with breakfast and afternoon tea, and half of the room was dedicated to a children’s underwater themed indoor playground, complete with attentive staff. With climbing rocks, algebra tables, virtual games, slides, climbing frames, and even a dolls’ house, it’s a child’s dream come true. As a parent it can be rare to find a moment to eat breakfast with both hands and at your leisure and having this area makes this totally possible! Our little one was thoroughly entertained, and we were able to enjoy a peaceful meal without distractions. Vibrant, colourful, and designed with families in mind, this space allowed kids to be kids.
The lazy river became a beloved part of our stay, and we lost count of how many times we circled it. There were also three big slides, albeit for kids only, which left us slightly disappointed but our little one thrilled. A diving rock (supervised, of course), a bouncy castle, an inflatable water park, and an adventure park kept us entertained throughout our stay. The splash pad was a particular hit with the younger kids, and the games room, equipped with a movie area, foosball, and air hockey, provided indoor excitement. To top it all off, we enjoyed movies under the stars on the beach both nights and were treated to a mesmerising fire performance on Saturday night.
One unique feature that surprised us was the presence of a candy themed kids’ spa. Yes, you read that right! Nestled close to the adult spa, this dedicated space offered spa treatments tailored to children. A fantastic addition for little ones who want to feel pampered just like the grown-ups.
We opted for an all-inclusive package, and we couldn’t have been happier with the culinary offerings. With a variety of dining options, including both buffet and à la carte restaurants, our taste buds were in for a treat. For dinner, we tried Suan Bua, the Thai eatery, and were blown away by the extensive dinner buffet spread, featuring a wide array of dishes. Some of the Thai curries were so delicious that we went back for seconds.
Our daytime favourite was Sands, the place to be for stunning views of the pool and beach. Known for its fresh brick-oven pizzas and laid-back dining experience, it offered an extensive à la carte menu for lunch between 12pm and 3pm, with options for both adults and children. We couldn’t get enough of the chicken Caesar salad, quesadillas, and fish and chips. And here’s a tip: don’t miss the popcorn chicken and bruschetta from the snack menu between 3pm and 6pm!
For a special evening, we booked a table at Uno Mas, the wine cellar and Argentinian grill. The authentic charcoal grills delivered unique flavours and tender meats, and the special set menu exceeded our expectations. Juicy garlic prawns and patatas bravas made for delectable starters, but the star of the show was the steak, cooked to perfection and packed with chargrilled flavour. The peppercorn sauce, though delicious, was almost unnecessary.
Our room was spacious and, as a family room, catered to kids with a large bean bag and bunk beds. The wall beside the bunk beds was designed like an aquarium, a delightful touch that our kids adored. The balcony offered lovely sea views, the perfect spot to unwind.
Of course, no stay is complete without some relaxation. We indulged in massages, and the spa facilities were top-notch. Thai masseuses demonstrated their expertise, and after the massage, we made use of the sauna, steam room, jacuzzi, and ice plunge pool. It was the ultimate relaxation experience.
Throughout our stay, the staff were incredibly friendly, adding to the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Although the resort was busy, we were never left waiting for anything for long, a testament to the staff. There were so many dining options and bars, there were never any queues and so many pools, sun beds and bean bags that we were never left without somewhere to relax.
