The Odyssey

Synopsis: An adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek epic, The Odyssey follows the legendary Greek king Odysseus on a grueling, perilous 10-year journey to return home to Ithaca after the Trojan War. Along the way, he battles formidable mythical creatures and vengeful gods in order to reunite with his wife, Penelope, and his son, Telemachus.

Insider info: The release of a Christopher Nolan movie has ascended way beyond the level of a just another blockbuster hitting the theaters, it’s long since headed into the ”cultural landmark” stratosphere. And The Odyssey, the heralded director’s star-laden mythical action epic, is no exception. Nolan has raised the bar even higher for his depiction of Homer’s classic, utilising practically no green screens, instead relying on genuine seaworthy ships and practical effects filmed in real Mediterranean locations such as Morocco, Greece, and Italy.

Vanicek stated his intention with the film was to, “create a visceral, sensory experience that punches the audience in the gut.
