Luxury Resort Finolhu Baa Atoll Maldives wins Coveted Sustainability Award

By committing to environmental and social welfare the resort has been the recipient of the Travelife Gold Certification.

Seen as appropriate recognition for outstanding contribution to their commitment to environmental and social welfare, the Finolhu Baa Atoll has made inroads into sustainable tourism and Corporate Social Responsibility, with their award being focused on Finolhu’s efforts towards accommodation sustainability. 

The plush resort is nestled within the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, for which Finolhu embraces its responsibility towards protecting the local environment. After an in-depth testing and reviewing process, they were awarded with the accolade after  their progressive action minimising environmental impacts, improving the situation economically for people in their community, and respecting labour practices and human rights came to light. They’ve also been active in safeguarding the welfare and biodiversity of the flora and fauna around the island.
