Ready to tackle a 10km obstacle course in the desert? The much-anticipated Spartan Race Dawn ’til Dusk is going down on Saturday, April 19th, at the luxury Bab Al Shams Desert Resort—and this year, it’s packed with a fresh twist.
As always, the course will push your limits with challenging obstacles designed to test every ounce of your strength, grit, and determination. Think climbing walls, crawling under barbed wire, swinging from rings, and even throwing spears.
Oh, and did we mention there’s a brand-new obstacle that’s about to turn things up a notch?
Meet the Helix—Coming in Hot from the US
The Helix is the latest addition to the Spartan course, and it’s ready to challenge even the most seasoned race veterans. Picture this: a twisting, DNA-shaped metal structure that will have you scaling from one side to the other while dodging the top and bottom as they seem to vanish before your eyes. It’s deceptively difficult and has sent even the elite racers into the dreaded penalty loop. But don’t worry, it’s all part of the Spartan thrill.
The new obstacle takes centre stage at the next Spartan Race.
What Else is in Store?
The classic Spartan favourites are making a return, including:
- A-Frame Cargo: Climb over a towering ‘A’ frame and work your footwork and fear of heights.
- Sandbag Carry: No smooth ground here—expect to haul your sandbag through dunes and mud for extra resistance.
- Barbed Wire Crawl: No surprise here. It’s exactly what it sounds like: a crawl on all fours under the infamous barbed wire.

Tickets are now live for the main event, with prices starting at AED 295 for the 5km Sprint and AED 365 for the 10km Super. Plus, there’s fun for the little ones too, with three shorter kids’ races at 1km, 1.5km, and 3km, starting from AED 110.
