The plush resort is nestled within the Baa Atoll UNESCO Biosphere Reserve, for which Finolhu embraces its responsibility towards protecting the local environment. After an in-depth testing and reviewing process, they were awarded with the accolade after their progressive action minimising environmental impacts, improving the situation economically for people in their community, and respecting labour practices and human rights came to light.
