With Ramadan’s arrival, you can expect changes to the workweek, including shorter hours for both the public and private sectors. It’s the perfect opportunity to take a breather and recharge—whether it’s with some downtime or a trip out of the UAE. Stay tuned for official updates on the moon sighting, and get ready to plan your schedule accordingly!
What can newbies expect during Ramadan?
Fasting is one of the five pillars of Islam, forming the core foundation of the faith. These pillars guide the lives of Muslims worldwide, and Ramadan stands as the most sacred time in the Islamic calendar. It’s a period dedicated to prayer, reflection, and spiritual devotion, offering an opportunity to seek forgiveness for past misdeeds and draw closer to Allah through acts of kindness and good deeds.
In the spirit of Ramadan, both public and private sectors typically shorten their working hours. Exact office timings will be confirmed closer to the start of Ramadan, but generally, expect your workday to be reduced by two hours.
