Art Lab returns with new workshops at The Louvre Abu Dhabi
While we all endure the final roasting of the summer why not take on a new skill-based challenge in the form of art-based workshops
Summer Artlab is constructed in such a way that it connects you to the collections on display through several activities. The schedule lasts 2 weeks and is aimed at teenagers to adults
Help will also be on hand from, UAE based artists from Zayed University, the Federal Youth Authority, Youth Spots and the Louvre Abu Dhabi’s Museum Educators
The Louvre Abu Dhabi Artlab has many aspects to engage with from print making to painting. You’ll get to explore a range of art techniques, interact with artists and create your own masterpieces.
Timings go from 10.30am to 1.30pm or from 3.30pm to 6.30pm. The price is Dhs120 per workshop, which includes admission to the museum. There is a 20 percent discount for museum members and DCT staff. Art and drawing materials will be provided for each session and you should arrive 15 minutes early to each session.
Speaking of art, there are two new sculptures to see at Yas Bay Waterfront created by international artists: KAWS and Takashi Murakami. They are joining the other larger-than-life installations and murals at Yas Bay for a total of 12 artworks to see. You’ll find “Flower Parent and Child,” on the promenade and “Final Days,” in the lobby.
But first, it’s time to brush up on your art skills at Louvre Abu Dhabi Artlab. Happy painting.
