Alternative routes to get around during the Dubai Ride and Dubai Run.
Get ready for two days of action-packed events as Sheikh Zayed Road will be closed to drivers this November. The closures are part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, with Dubai Ride and Dubai Run taking over the iconic road.
Key Dates:
- Sunday, November 10th: Dubai Ride – A fun and inclusive event for cyclists of all levels.
- Sunday, November 24th: Dubai Run – Runners, both pro and amateur, will race along the Tarmac.
Timing of Closures: The road closures will mainly happen early in the morning. For Dubai Ride, the roads will need to reopen for traffic by 8:15 AM, so cyclists must finish by then. For Dubai Run, the 5km route starts at 8 AM, and the 10km route kicks off at 7:30 AM, meaning the road may stay closed until later in the morning.
Road Closures for Dubai Ride (Nov 10):
- Sheikh Zayed Road (Trade Centre Roundabout to the second bridge)
- Lower Financial Centre Road (between Sheikh Zayed Road and Al Khail Road)
- Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard The closures will happen from 3:30 AM to 10 AM. The RTA suggests using Al Mustaqbal Road, Al Wasl Road, and Al Khail Road as alternative routes.
Road Closures for Dubai Run (Nov 24):
- The 5km route starts at the Museum of the Future, passes the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Opera, and ends at Dubai Mall.
- The 10km route also starts near the Museum of the Future, crosses the Dubai Canal Bridge, and loops back along Sheikh Zayed Road, finishing near DIFC Gate.
