Wimbledon Guide – Where to Watch the Finals

If you ‘love’ tennis, here’s a guide to the action where the best in the world deuce it out.

Wimbledon is as synonymous with a British summer as sipping Pimms or indulging in strawberries and cream – both of which are generously available. Every year, London transforms into a tennis enthusiast’s paradise for two weeks, all thanks to the Wimbledon Tennis Championships at the All England Lawn Tennis Club.

Since its inception in 1877, Wimbledon has grown into one of the globe’s most iconic tennis tournaments. It stands proudly as one of the four Grand Slam events, alongside the Australian Open, Roland Garros, and the US Open, and remains the sole Grand Slam played on the classic grass courts.

When is it taking place?

The 2024 Wimbledon is from July 1st until 14th July, where 675 matches are thrashed out over 19 courts in just two weeks. The most watched events are the men’s and women’s singles, plus the mixed doubles, and the junior event for boys and girls.

You can get tickets to go in person to watch from 10am each day, and catch the No. 1 matches from 1pm and 1:30pm for celebrity-gazing spot Centre Court.

Celeb Spotting

Wimbledon is the epitome of chic summertime socialising, and anyone who’s anyone and is governed by the social calendar shows up to the important matches. In terms of the rich and famous, this year alone has seen appearances from Princess Beatrice, Foo Fighters’ frontman Dave Grohl, Michael Mcintyre, Stephen Fry, Salma Hayek, Rebel Wilson, plus US stars Patrick and Brittany Mahomes. All the nation’s press are in attendance, from glitzy Tatler to the Daily Mail, so it’s worth bringing out your Sunday best if you’re attending in person.

What’s the latest tea?

With British star Andy Murray bowing out of the men’s singles and announcing that this Wimbledon will be his swan song, all eyes are now on Spanish sensation Carlos Alcaraz Garfia as he battles for the trophy. Mark your calendars, because the Wimbledon 2024 final is set for Sunday, July 14th.
