Republic Adda Bar & Lounge has recently launched Citizen Brunch – a Sunday brunch for all the family. Nestled within DoubleTree by Hilton – Business Bay, Republic Adda Bar & Lounge delights guests with mouthwatering Indian street food and drinks that come with an eclectic twist, all within a visually spectacular venue. Colourful umbrellas grace the rooftop, patterns are everywhere and a rickshaw sits outside the venue, ready to transport visitors to the Indian republic.
First impressions are everything and from the moment we stepped in we felt like we were arriving at something really special. We were presented with a refreshing welcome drink with candy floss and dry ice adding to the effect. Choosing a window seat with breathtaking views of the iconic Burj Khalifa, we were off to a great start.
The brunch journey began with an impressive array of sensational starters brought to the table, served family-style. From the tantalising tuna Bhel and spicy lentil salad to the flavorful lamb bao buns and succulent fish tikka skewers, every dish showcased the authentic flavours of Indian street food.
Moving on to the mains, the choices were enticing. We were invited to select from three options: the Spicy Curried Chicken Udon Noodles Stir Fry, the Madrasi Fish and Chips, or the Mushroom Kalimiri. Each dish was a masterpiece of flavours, leaving taste buds satisfied and craving more.
Saving room for desserts was a wise decision, as the shared sweet treats were irresistible. The Cashew Chocolate Brownies, Thandai Ice Cream with Kharri Puffs, Milk Rabdi Carrot Cake, and Saffron Tres Leches were a delightful blend of traditional and innovative flavours that truly delighted the palate.
Beverage-wise, what stood out was the gin station, allowing guests to create their own gin and tonic combinations, further adding a personal touch to the experience.
As the brunch progressed, the tunes were pumping and the dance floor came alive, transforming the atmosphere into a full-fledged party. The energy and excitement were infectious, ensuring an unforgettable afternoon of fun and celebration.
