The Hotel
Perched boldly on the western banks of the Chao Phraya River, the Millennium Hilton Bangkok demands attention with its striking white exterior and standout architecture. Stepping inside, guests are greeted by a world of extravagance, where a plethora of dining delights, chic bars, and sumptuous leisure facilities await exploration. The lobby is a visual feast, with ceilings reaching for the sky, cosy seating areas, and hidden nooks perfect for impromptu work sessions. Inspired by the enchanting ocean, the decor features swirling wave patterns on the carpets and a dazzling crystal chandelier above the entrance, reminiscent of a crashing wave frozen in time – a sight that wows from every angle. Towering proudly among the city’s elite five-star destinations, the Hilton distinguishes itself with its unwavering commitment to delivering top-notch service and an unforgettable luxury experience.
The Room
Staying in one of the hotel’s Panoramic Suites was an absolute treat! From the bedroom to the lounge area, we were treated to breathtaking views of the river and nearby shopping mall. The suite was well-appointed with a full bathroom, separate toilet, and a designated work area, providing everything a traveller could need for a seamless transition from day to night. It’s set over a sprawling 67 square metres, making it spacious even for two guests. The bathroom was a sanctuary of luxury, boasting a sunken tub and spacious shower accompanied by extensive mirrors and even a window into the bedroom for a touch of whimsy. Waking up to the panoramic spectacle of Bangkok right from the bed felt like having my very own private movie screen – truly unforgettable! And let’s not forget about the King Size bed itself – it was a symphony of comfort and relaxation, with ultra-soft sheets and cloud-like pillows that made us feel like we were sleeping in a dream. Plus, you’ll be treated to complimentary goodies like bottled water, coffee, tea, and fresh fruit every day. It’s the little luxuries that made my stay feel extra special.
The Spa
I wandered into the blissful oasis of the eforea spa, where relaxation knows no bounds. With 12 serene treatment rooms, an inviting outdoor spa deck, rejuvenating saunas, bubbling whirlpools, and soothing Japanese tubs, every corner of this wellness haven is designed to melt away stress and leave you feeling utterly refreshed. I was lucky enough to have a glorious 90-minute massage in one of their private rooms, after which I relaxed with tea and a fluffy robe and slippers and they brought me a heated neck pillow. Bliss. There are also Thai therapy suites and a hydrotherapy room, featuring a luxurious Vichy shower so you can pamper yourself with a range of spa amenities, including whirlpools and saunas, filled with premium products from Kerstin Florian, LI’TYA, and Vitaman. In the relaxation area they have a yoga studio, and lounge, where serenity awaits.
The Executive Lounge
I indulged in the elevated experience of the Millennium Bangkok’s hotel lounge, where every moment is a panoramic delight. Perched on the 31st floor, this serene sanctuary offers breathtaking views of the river on both sides, creating an unparalleled backdrop for your morning meal or afternoon tea. Escape the hustle and bustle of the lobby and treat yourself to a sumptuous breakfast spread featuring freshly squeezed juices, aromatic coffee, crispy bacon, and an array of Asian delicacies. Later in the day, unwind on the roof terrace with a steaming cup of coffee and mingle with the friendly pigeons amidst the clouds. For a truly decadent experience, partake in the afternoon tea, where towering platters of cakes, pastries, and sandwiches await. As evening falls, the lounge transforms into a vibrant cocktail haven, offering signature blends and delectable snacks to accompany the stunning sunset views. Whether you’re seeking a quiet spot to work or a chic venue for a rendezvous, the executive lounge caters to every need, with out-of-hours bites and a tranquil ambiance. And don’t miss the exclusive access to the ThreeSixty Lounge, where glittering city vistas, craft cocktails, and soulful jazz melodies await.
The Restaurants
I had dinner the first night at the casual ALE HOUSE, a sports bar experience, with a modernist design and light-filled ambiance. It’s situated in a prime location with panoramic river views, and provides a refreshing oasis for sports enthusiasts – as well as an excellent menu. Its comfortable seating arrangements are strategically placed to maximise the mesmerising vistas while fostering a lively and engaging atmosphere. I started with some spicy raw tuna tacos – which took the roof off my mouth but were bursting with flavour – followed by a juicy steak, crispy fries and coleslaw. This was liberally accompanied by several Aperol Spritz, while I enjoyed the chugging boats and bright lights around the river. For beer and ale fans, you can choose from 35 different types, and among the highlights are the irresistible local craft beers like Khun Phaen Lychee Pale Ale and The Brewing Project Whale Pale Ale. Chef Matthias is the innovative head chef responsible for the Thai-inspired Sai Ua Hot Dog and the signature Infused-Craft Beer Beef Cheek Pie. With a promise of swift service, these delectable dishes are guaranteed to be served within 15 minutes, or you’ll receive complimentary beer on the house!
In line with the theme of the sea on the lobby level, ground floor restaurant FLOW is a hotspot for buffet breakfasts, light lunches and dinners. Sophistication meets delectable international cuisine in an all-day dining format, where chefs showcase their expertise across five display kitchens, offering a tantalising array of dishes spanning Thai, Chinese, Indian, and European cuisines. There’s a lavish Sunday brunch with live music and a Wagyu beef station, and a signature dessert theatre, but even if you only sample the breakfast there’s oodles of choices with Western and Eastern fancies.
Finally, Lantern is an oasis of indulgence in the heart of the lobby. Whether you’re a connoisseur of fine blended teas or a fan of exquisite fresh coffee, there’s plenty of choices on site as you sit and relax watching the world go by. Nibble on pastries, cakes, savoury treats, chocolates, and desserts, all served in a casually elegant ambiance, and enjoy cosy seating and fast WIFI – a definite plus in South East Asia!
The Pool
Located on the 4th floor, the pool has a 20-metre stretch of infinity pool overlooking the river, with sunbeds strategically placed in the shimmering waters. There’s also some hidden intimate seating areas secluded in dense foliage, a chill out area with seating, and plenty of nooks and crannies to explore.
My 2-night stay at the Millennium Hilton Bangkok was superb: from the moment I arrived, I was greeted with impeccable service and a sense of luxury that set the tone for the entire experience. The panoramic suite I stayed in was breathtaking, offering stunning views of the cityscape and river below. The executive lounge was a highlight, providing exclusive access to a range of amenities and services that truly elevated my stay.
