Here to Help – Where you can Donate for Gaza

The UAE has set up various collection points across the city for humanitarian relief.

The UAE has launched a Tarahum (Compassion for the people in Gaza with humanitarian relief and aid packages for the Palestinian families and children impacted by the war, says the Emirates News Agency. 

The Emirates Red Crescent has opened a number of donation sites across Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Fujairah so that anyone in the public can visit and donate food, hygiene products, materials and health supplies to those affected by the crisis.

Abu Dhabi

Donation sites include: Emirates Red Crescent Headquarters; Carrefour, Airport Road; Marina Mall Caravan; Shahama, Baniyas Co-operative Society; Khalifa City (behind the shops); Baniyas City (next to Lulu Hypermarket); and Al Shawamekh (in front of Lulu Express).

Dubai

Donation sites include: Emirates Red Crescent Headquarters in Al Quoz; Umm Ramool, Al Garhoud; Mall of the Emirates; City Centre Al Shindagha; City Centre Meaisem; City Centre Mirdif; and Arabian Centre. While in Sharjah, the donation can be found at Nekheelat Authority Office; Sharjah Co-operative Society, Helwan; Sharjah Co-operative Society, Al Dhaid; and Lulu Hypermarket, Al Hazana.

Fujairah

Donation sites include: Emirates Red Crescent Headquarters; Al Bustan Hall; Masafi Council; Bidiyah Council; Hawaya Suburb, Khorfakkan; Suhaila Suburb, Kaiba; and Dibba Fujairah Co-operative Society for Fishermen.

What to Donate

There are three different aid packages for women, children and food. There is a list on the Instagram page for the Emirates Red Crescent with a full list of the items required for each of the boxes. You can also donate cash directly to the Red Crescent website

According to The National, more than 600,000 people have been forced to flee their homes and more than 4,000 people have lost their lives since the start of the Israeli-Gaza war. H.H Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nayhan – the President of the UAE – send AED 73.5 million in aid to the people of Palestine and H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum – Vice President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai – sent another AED 50 million. 

The aid will be sent through the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) for Palestine Refugees in the Near East.
