Remote classes will continue into early April across the emirate.
News for parents: students across Dubai will remain in distance learning for at least two more weeks, following confirmation from education authorities.
Public and private schools, along with universities, resumed the term with remote classes on Monday March 23rd, and this arrangement will now continue until Friday April 3rd.
What’s changing?
The Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) confirmed that distance learning will remain in place across the emirate as a temporary measure, aimed at supporting the safety and wellbeing of students and staff.
The move follows the recent adjustment to the spring break schedule, which was brought forward by one week.
During this period, students, teachers and administrative staff will continue to operate remotely, with authorities reviewing the situation on a weekly basis.

Could schools reopen sooner?
While distance learning is currently in place, private schools and nurseries are able to submit requests to return to in-person learning if required.
These applications will be reviewed by the relevant authorities, with decisions made based on current conditions and safety considerations.
Support for parents and caregivers
Alongside the extension of remote learning, flexible working arrangements have been introduced for parents working in the federal government sector.
Fathers and mothers whose roles allow remote work will be able to work flexibly while supporting children engaged in distance learning, particularly those in kindergarten through to Grade 8, as well as nursery-aged children.
The measure has been introduced in coordination with the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, as part of broader initiatives under the Year of the Family.

What about universities?
Meanwhile UAE universities reopen online, some with hybrid classes, and offering temporary relocation options. Those who are outside the country for spring break are able to learn remotely.
