FAQs on Buying GTA 6 in Dubai
A Grand Theft Auto release isn’t just another triple-A game release, it’s a seismic cultural moment…and the crazy thing is that isn’t hyperbole. It really is that big of a deal. GTA VI is primed to be the biggest entertainment launch in history. A new Taylor Swift album? Nope. Christpopher Nolan’s latest mind-bending epic? Think again. GTA VI eclipses them all. It’s been more than a decade (and a whopping 230 million copies sold) since GTA V hit the streets, and Rockstar Games are about to let us loose in Vice City as we embrace the chaos with dual protagonists Jason and Lucia. Yep, the long wait is almost over, with GTA VI officially launching worldwide on November 19th, 2026. But for both hardcore and sporadic gamers alike, navigating the game’s different versions and price-points can be a little bit daunting. So, with the distinct purpose of bringing clarity to the confusion, The Insider’s complete guide on how to buy GTA 6 in Dubai is here to inform on absolutely everything you need to know.
Is GTA 6 Banned in the UAE?
Simple answer? Nope. Elaborated answer: For Dubai residents, the release of GTA VI carries special significance because the Grand Theft Auto franchise was effectively banned in the UAE for over a decade. Indeed, GTA V only received official local release in July 2025 under a new 21+ age-rating framework. Now, GTA VI has been cleared under that same framework for both Saudi Arabia and the UAE – meaning, for the first time, Dubai gamers can buy the newest mainline GTA title on day one, through fully official, local channels.
Different Versions of GTA 6
GTA VI launches on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S only – there are no PS4 or Xbox One versions, and no confirmed PC release date as yet (a PC port is widely expected, but likely won’t arrive until sometime after the console launch). Rockstar’s edition line-up for GTA VI can be a little confusing to the uninitiated, so we’ve waded through the waffle to bring you the breakdown.
Standard Edition Digital – $79.99 (approx. AED 295)
The Standard Edition comprises the complete single-player story – the full map, full narrative, and every core feature – at launch. Pre-ordering includes the Vintage Vice City Pack (exclusive outfits for Jason and Lucia, a 1955 Vapid Stanier vehicle, and a Tropical Pattern weapon skin), plus one free month of GTA+. Note: the GTA+ subscription auto-renews after the free month at the standard GTA+ rate unless it’s cancelled, and is redeemable immediately upon pre-order – not at launch – so claim it with that timing in mind.
Ultimate Edition Digital – $99.99 (approx. AED 370)
The Ultimate Edition includes everything in the Standard Edition, plus an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel and five additional in-game shops (including Rideout Customs and Sara’s Unisex Salon) that unlock progressively through the story. It essentially adds cosmetic and side-content depth – not extra map or main-story content.
Standard Edition Boxed (code in the box, no disc) – $90 (approx. AED 330)
Boxed retail copies are available for pre-order, but – unusually for a major console release – they contain a one-time download code, not a game disc. The code supports pre-loading from November 12th, a week ahead of launch. A true disc version has been rumoured for a possible follow-up release, but this has not been officially confirmed by Rockstar and given Sony’s recent announcement that physical disc production for all new PlayStation games will be discontinued from January 2028, we won’t be holding our breath here at The Insider.
The $400 Collector’s Box (doesn’t include the game)
Rockstar has also released a $399.99 premium merchandise crate called The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection — which includes apparel, a stash bag, stickers and other Vice City–themed collectibles. It does not include a copy of the game in any form, digital or physical, and is being sold separately through the official Rockstar Games Store. Note: At time of writing, The Goodtime State – Vice City Collection is, according to the official Rockstar Games Store, not available to consumers in the UAE.

Can GTA VI be played on PS4 or Xbox One?
Nope. GTA VI is a current-generation exclusive, available only on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at launch.

No. Every boxed copy currently available for pre-order in the UAE (and globally) contains only a printed download code, not a disc.
Is GTA VI officially available in the UAE, and what’s the age rating?
Yes. Following the UAE Media Council’s 2025 introduction of a 21+ classification (the same framework that allowed GTA V’s belated local release), GTA VI has been approved for official UAE release with a 21+ age rating – available through official digital and physical retail channels from day one.
What’s the difference between the Standard and Ultimate Editions? Standard ($79.99) is the complete single-player story. Ultimate ($99.99) adds the same full story plus exclusive cosmetic content — bonus vehicles, weapons, apparel and five extra in-game shops — unlocked progressively; it does not add extra map area or additional story missions.
