‘Beyond: The Great Illusion Show’ is in Media City at the end of October.
If you love tricks and illusion, you should definitely visit the unique spectacle that is Beyond: The Great Illusion Show.
Hosted at The Agenda in Media City on Saturday October 28th and 29th, this international illusion act will have jaws on floors with their astonishing array of magic.
The bonus point is that it will also be held in two different languages, firstly in English from 5pm-7pm and the second in Russian from 9pm-11pm. Tickets are reasonably priced at AED 250 for both shows and can be purchased here.
Like a lot of live shows, flash photography is prohibited but you can still take normal pictures, and the unique circular stage means the audience can see the sights and tricks from all angles.
While there might be some more basic sleight of hand, expect far more intricate and sophisticated performances at this show. If you’ve seen the movie ‘Now You See Me’ (and liked it) you’ll be in for a treat, as many of the tricks are inspired by the group in the film. There are not one but four master illusionists performing their unique and impressive brand of tricks.
One of the tricksters is called Mike Berdnikov, a Mentalist, who has 24 years of experience behind him and even includes hypnosis in his repertoire. He is also the leader of the show, bringing the other talent together, and he is notorious for a unique act of walking on water.
There’s also a vanishing act by Dmitry Polyakov, known as The Vanisher, and his show involves audience participation, so if you’re feeling bold you can get involved! Inspired by Harry Houdini, Polyakov’s stunts are as daring and dramatic as they come, including breaking out of a straitjacket secured with chains in just two and a half minutes. He performed this act on Central Asia Got Talent.
Alan Gladkovas, known as the Trendsetter, is bringing a fusion of fashion and magic to the stage, while The Comedian, Mikhail Gutorov is contributing his less-than-usual blend of comedic magic to the show, which will certainly have you in tears of laughter.
