The Insider Reviews: Nobu By The Beach, Experiencing the World’s First
If trying something new is on your agenda, why not head down to Nobu’s first beach club at Atlantis the Royal?
Nobu’s debut pool and beach club in Dubai is cited as a haven of indulgent relaxation – and it is just that. As we made our way through the opulent Atlantis the Royal hotel, anticipation grew for our visit to Nobu by the Beach. The dedicated air-conditioned reception area and the limited number of sunbeds, a mere 130, instantly gave the venue an exclusive and intimate feel. The pool area offers views of the architecturally impressive hotel and the rustling palm leaves and turquoise hues of the surroundings create an ambiance of pure bliss. Guests can choose from daybeds, open-air cabanas, or indulge in the ultimate luxury by reserving one of the air-conditioned or private pool cabanas.
Nobu’s reputation for exceptional cuisine preceded it, and we were eager to experience its legendary flavours. The sharing-style menu showcased inventive Japanese-Peruvian cuisine, and every dish exceeded our expectations. The Salmon New Style tacos, Spicy Edamame, Yellowtail Jalapeño, and Crispy Shiitake Salad with Goma Truffle Dressing were absolute highlights. The Black Cod served in Butter Lettuce lived up to its fame, delivering a melt-in-your-mouth experience. The Rock Shrimp Tempura with Three Sauces was a delightful explosion of flavours, while the perfectly cooked Beef Skewers and Soft Shell Crab Sushi Rolls showcased Nobu’s culinary expertise. The deconstructed cheesecake and Nobu-branded ice cream provided a sweet and satisfying conclusion to the extraordinary meal.
The cocktail selection at Nobu by the Beach was equally impressive. Instead of relying on decorative details, these cocktails focus on the artistry of mixology and the perfect balance of flavours. We tried some of the tequila-based drinks; ‘Flying Fish’ being one. It contained 818 tequila blanco (Kendal Jenner’s brand for that extra coolness factor). Salt and spices coated the glass and complemented the intense flavours of the drink. What we really liked was how knowledgeable the waitress was; she informed us that the bar staff had sampled all the drinks so knew what each tasted like and could suggest recommendations based on firsthand experience.
We can’t forget to mention the staff uniforms. The crisp white sundresses worn by the waitresses outside and the stylish cropped shirts and skirts worn by the waitresses inside added LA vibes. Where else could Nobu open its first beach club than Dubai? The result is a spectacular setting, exceptional cuisine, and impeccable service. Whether it’s a special occasion or a desire to treat yourself, Nobu by the Beach checks all the boxes, and is highly recommended for a visit.
