Abu Dhabi is about to go ape – quite literally.
Mushrif Mall has rolled out the red (or should we say reptilian-green) carpet for “Kingdom of Beasts,” a larger-than-life exhibition stomping into the city from August 20th to September 20th.
And incredibly – it’s also absolutely free. That’s right, no need to sell a fossilised kidney on the black market to take your kids down there: you can meet gorillas, slither past giant snakes, and swim with sharks (well, not literally, but close enough) without spending a single dirham. Cue a perfect weekend adventure to keep the little ones amused while the winter temperatures are still just en route.

What to expect from your roaring adventure.
A Wild Welcome
The adventure begins before you even step inside: a towering gorilla greets visitors at the entrance, ready to make your Instagram reel bananas. From there, you’ll be shepherded (or should we say, slithered) along by a monstrous anaconda that winds its way through the exhibition, pointing you toward interactive displays and massive shark models that look like they’ve swum straight out of a Hollywood movie set.
Just when you think you’ve survived the jungle and the deep sea, the exhibition throws you back millions of years to the fossil age. Families can dig into hands-on fossil stations, brushing up on prehistoric discoveries and jaw-dropping facts about Earth’s fiercest creatures. Think of it as a science lesson that doesn’t make the kids groan; in fact, you might have trouble dragging them away.
Family Games That Aren’t Extinct
If the beasts weren’t enough to lure you in, Mushrif Mall is sweetening the deal with weekend carnival-style games every Saturday and Sunday from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. From tossing rings to skill-testing challenges, the games are designed to keep the whole family engaged.
Why All the Roar?
Behind the spectacle, Mushrif Mall insists this isn’t just about selfies with sharks. “Kingdom of Beasts reflects our dedication to enriching community spaces,” said Biju George, General Manager of Line Investments and Property. “We wanted to create an experience that blends entertainment and education for all ages.”

Riyas Cherichi, General Manager of Mushrif Mall, also said: “We’re thrilled to host an event that turns the mall into more than just a shopping destination. Kingdom of Beasts is about creating memories: ones that families will treasure long after the school holidays end.”
So, if back-to-school blues are hitting hard, Mushrif Mall might just have the antidote. Come face-to-face with gorillas, sharks, and maybe discover your inner paleontologist – all without leaving Abu Dhabi. For more information visit their website.
