New Cinema Releases in UAE for April 2026

The Super Mario Galaxy Movie

Synopsis: Mario and Luigi, the twin plumbers, apply their “let’s-a-go” attitude to solve everyday problems all over their new home of the Mushroom Kingdom. As they support Princess Peach, and work to reform a miniaturised imprisoned Bowser, they meet a new companion – Yoshi.

Princess Peach’s birthday party sparks a galactic adventure, sending the brothers into space to stop Bowser Jr.’s wicked ambitions and save Rosalina. The addition of the beloved characters Rosalina and Bowser Jr. adds extra spice of big action, comedy, and some shocking revelations to the adventure!

Insider info: The eagerly anticipated sequel to The Super Mario Bros. Movie, which was released in 2023 and earned more than $1.3 billion worldwide, is here and ready to rocket audiences beyond the Mushroom Kingdom. Can the second iteration of what is sure to be a prolific franchise hit the same heights as its predecessor? You’d have to be brave to bet against it.

Oh, and for all you Nintendo superfans out there in the galaxy, this movie has a whole lot of Easter Eggs going on. What’s that you say about an anthropomorphic red fox with a penchant for Arwing flying?

Cast: Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black, Keegan-Michael Key, Benny Safdie, Donald Glover, Issa Rae, Luis Guzmán, Kevin Michael Richardson, Brie Larson

Directors: Aaron Horvath & Michael Jelenic

UAE Cinema Release Date: 1st April 2026

Ready or Not 2: Here I Come

Synopsis: Moments after surviving an all-out attack from the Le Domas family, Grace discovers she’s reached the next level of the nightmarish game — and this time with her estranged sister Faith at her side. Grace has one chance to survive, keep her sister alive, and claim the High Seat of the Council that controls the world. Four rival families are hunting her for the throne, and whoever wins rules it all.

Insider info: We’re straying into cult classic territory here. Ready or Not was a surprise box office hit back in 2019, earning over $57 million globally against a budget of just $6 million. Those are the kind of profits that make studio execs very happy, which makes it somewhat surprising that it’s taken 7 years for a second move to arrive. Nonetheless, interest in this horror/comedy sequel has not been dampened by the extended hiatus, ensuring Ready or Not 2: Here I Come sits comfortably amongst the top cinema releases in the UAE this month.

Cast: Samara Weaving, Kathryn Newton, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Néstor Carbonell, David Cronenberg, Elijah Wood, Kevin Durand, Olivia Cheng, Varun Saranga, Daniel Beirne

Directors: Matt Bettinelli-Olpin & Tyler Gillett

UAE Cinema Release Date: 2nd April 2026

The Raiders

Synopsis: Professor Fang (Jackie Chan) leads a team of archaeologists to discover a mysterious jade that takes him back in time in an action-packed journey.

Insider info: It’s Jackie Chan doing Jackie Chan stuff in a rollicking romp that sees him going back in time…. so the question isn’t why should you go see this movie, it’s why wouldn’t you go see this movie?! Grab the popcorn, leave your brain in the cinema lobby, and open yourself up to utterly enjoyable ridiculousness.

Cast: Jackie Chan, Gülnezer Bextiyar, Yixing Zhang

Director: Stanley Tong

UAE Cinema Release Date: 9th April 2026

Normal

Synopsis: For Sheriff Ulysses (Odenkirk), his provisional posting to the quaint Midwestern American town of Normal was meant to be a welcome respite from both his marital woes and recent moral injuries in the line of duty. But when a botched bank robbery interrupts the municipality’s tranquil pace, a dark secret is inadvertently exposed, and Ulysses soon discovers that the town is anything but its namesake.

Insider info: Not only is Normal the latest collaboration between Bob Odenkirk and John Wick creator Derek Kolstad, it’s also described in the official studio synopsis as a kinetic neo-Western. Now, we don’t know about you, but here at The Insider we will definitely be checking this one out, if for no other reason than to find out what a ”kinetic neo-Western” actually is.

Cast: Bob Odenkirk, Lena Heady, Henry Winkler

Director: Ben Wheatley

UAE Cinema Release Date: 16th April 2026

The Devil Wears Prada 2

Synopsis: Miranda Priestly (Streep) struggles against Emily Charlton (Blunt), her former assistant turned rival executive, as they compete for advertising revenue amid declining print media, while Miranda nears retirement.

Insider info: ”Almost 20 years after making their iconic turn as Miranda, Andy, Emily and Nigel—Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt and Stanley Tucci return to the fashionable streets of New York City and the sleek offices of Runway Magazine in the eagerly awaited sequel to the 2006 phenomenon that defined a generation.” Those are the (rather grandiose) words of 20th Century Studios. It’s hard to argue though. The original The Devil Wears Prada earned $326.5 million worldwide against a $35 million budget back in 2006, and the movie has only grown its adoring audience further in the intervening years. This one is going to be a biggie!

Cast: Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, Stanley Tucci

Director: David Frankel
