DXB Travel Update: Emirates and flydubai Resume Limited Flight Schedules

What you need to know.

Dubai’s aviation sector has begun restoring services after recent airspace disruptions across the region temporarily affected flight operations.

Dubai Airports confirmed that a limited number of flights resumed at Dubai International Airport (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International Airport (DWC) on Saturday, March 7th, following a brief suspension earlier that day.

Services are gradually returning as conditions stabilise, though schedules remain subject to change while airlines continue to monitor the evolving situation in an attempt to keep residents and tourists alike safe.

However, passengers are advised to contact their airline before travelling to the airport and only proceed if their booking has been confirmed, as plans are subject to change at short notice due to the ongoing situation.

As of this weekend, limited operations have resumed at DWC and DXB.

Limited operations resumed at DXB and DWC

Dubai Airports confirmed the restart of operations after the temporary disruption to regional airspace impacted flight schedules across several local and international carriers.

A Dubai Airports spokesperson said: “Dubai Airports confirmed a partial resumption of operations on March 7, with a limited number of flights departing from both Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central – Al Maktoum International (DWC). Passengers were advised to avoid travelling to the airport unless their airline confirmed their flight, as schedules were subject to change. The situation continued to be monitored closely in coordination with relevant authorities, with a priority placed on maintaining the highest standards of operational safety, security and passenger wellbeing.”

Emirates gradually restoring its flight schedule

Dubai-based airline and local favourite Emirates confirmed that it had resumed operating a limited flight schedule following the regional airspace closures. The airline initially suspended several services before confirming over the weekend that it would resume as normal.

Passengers with earlier bookings were prioritised on the available flights while capacity can still remain limited, while travellers connecting through Dubai were permitted to travel only if their onward flight was also operating.

Customers affected by the disruption were also given the option to rebook flights or request a refund, depending on their booking conditions.

flydubai resumes reduced flight network

Meanwhile, flydubai confirmed that it had restarted a reduced number of flights across its network, gradually adding services as regional airspace restrictions eased.

The airline noted that some routes may experience longer travel times due to temporary rerouting of flight paths. Passengers were advised to check the airline’s flight status page regularly for the latest updates and to avoid travelling to the airport unless their flight had been confirmed.

A flydubai spokesperson said operations in and out of Dubai had resumed but emphasised that the situation remained under close review.

What you should do now if you’re preparing to travel

Despite the gradual shift to normal operations, authorities stress the importance of checking up to date information and getting full confirmations from your airline before any travel or even arriving to the airport.

Passengers travelling through Dubai are advised to:

• Confirm flight status with their airline before travelling
• Check email or SMS notifications for updates
• Allow extra travel time due to possible rerouting or delays

Airlines and airport authorities continue to monitor developments closely as operations steadily return to normal across Dubai’s aviation network.
