Don’t Miss Out on the Rest of 2023’s Banging Events

With 2023 halfway over, there are still a host of exciting events happening in the second part of the year – check out our list below.

JUNE

Eid Al Adha

Eid Al-Adha is announced for June 28, 29 and 30. Eid Al Adha will follow Arafat Day, a public holiday on June 27. As well as celebrating the cultural and religious holiday, expats can expect a 5-day weekend for celebrations of their own. 

Men’s Fashion Week

Part 2 of Men’s Arab Fashion Week will land in Dubai Design District in June. Expect to see all the upcoming trends unveiled from Men’s Spring and Summer, from June 28th-30th. 

JULY

Islamic New Year

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) is yet to confirm the date for Islamic New Year 2023 but it is expected to be Wednesday July 19. Once revealed it will be a paid holiday for all private sector employees in the UAE.

AUGUST

Kids go Back to School

Back to School season happens from August 7th until September 3rd, and gives parents time to breathe after having the younger family members home throughout the summer. Expect tons of sales for school suppliers through malls and shops.

SEPTEMBER

Birthday of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

Expect a public holiday at the end of September for Prophet Muhammad’s (PBUH) birthday. The date falls on Wednesday September 27th.

OCTOBER

Women’s Arab Fashion Week

Happening multiple times throughout the year, the October date will be in time for the women’s spring and summer shows. Dubai Design District will be taken over by fashionistas and design gurus between 10th-15th October. 

Dubai Fitness Challenge

Back with a bang for 2023, this year’s challenge kicks off Saturday 28th October running (geddit?) until Sunday November 26th. Launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council in 2017. The festival involves gyms, fitness centres, influencers, influencers, and the general public in health initiatives and challenges that take place across the city. 

NOVEMBER

Lewis Capaldi Concert

Catch incredible singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi will perform in Dubai after postponing the date from a previously scheduled appearance in 2022. On November 28th at 7pm guests can flock to the Coca Cola Arena at City Walk Dubai.

Formula 1 Grand Prix

Roaring into town again in 2023 for another star-studded weekend of racy events and nightlife excursions, there’s even a new racetrack layout at Yas Marina Circuit. Tickets and hotels sell out fast, so we recommend advance booking before the summer to guarantee your spots over the 24th-26th of November. 

DECEMBER

UAE National Day

Celebrating the UAE with typical national pride from Saturday 2nd-Monday 4th December, residents and locals alike enjoy activities throughout the city with hotel’s, malls, and restaurants all serving up epic deals and events. This is also a great time to head over to a neighbouring emirate and enjoy a cultural staycation or relaxing weekend. 

Mother of the Nation (MOTN) Abu Dhabi

Mother of the Nation (MOTN) is the much-loved annual event that pays tribute to the legacy of HH Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the Mother of the Nation. Full details haven’t been announced until now, but last year’s celebration included live art installations, themed zones, Instagrammable spots, tons of foodie outlets, live entertainers, and fun for the whole family. 

Dubai Rugby 7s

A much-loved party event in the Dubai social calendar (apparently there’s also rugby matches?!) on December 1st-4th. This event is famed for its beer tents, fancy dress, and vibrant party vibes. It’s also the largest sports and entertainment festival in the Middle East, and grows each year with its live acts, shows, and performances. Get your tickets early before they sell out.
