Been There, Run That – Burj2Burj Race

Road closures are expected on race day so drivers are advised to stay off the roads.

The Burj2Burj half marathon is set to bring some early morning road closures on Sunday, January 22nd, affecting several of Dubai’s busiest thoroughfares.

With thousands of participants registered, the race will kick off from the iconic Burj Al Arab, with the first runners hitting the starting line as early as 6am.

The route promises scenic views along Jumeirah Beach Road, offering runners stunning vistas of the Arabian Gulf as the sun ascends.

As the race progresses, participants will pass by notable landmarks such as the Union House Flag and Etihad Museum after crossing over the canal.

Hydration stations dotted along the route will ensure that participants stay refreshed, with a single lane designated for traffic flow.

Runners can look forward to live music, cheering supporters, and entertainment, all aimed at boosting morale during the early morning endeavour.

Expectations are high for swift performances, with elite and international athletes anticipated to vie for top honours.

The culmination of the race will be at the iconic Burj Khalifa, with the last runners anticipated to reach the finish line by 9:10 am.

Every participant will be awarded a medal, while the fastest male and female runners will claim trophies. Additionally, trophies await the swiftest Emirati male and female runners.

Comments from both RTA and the Burj2Burj race organisers are pending.
