If you are looking for a laid-back, good value brunch then look no further – Motorino’s ‘Back to Brooklyn’ late night brunch has you covered.
Firstly, we at The Insider love an evening brunch – no early start and no scrambling around to find a spot for post brunch drinks. The fact that Motorino offers this brunch between 8-11pm on both a Friday and Saturday makes for easy weekend planning.
The first thing you will notice on arrival at Motorino are the highly Instagrammable interiors, from the restaurant’s famous graffiti wall and quirky neon signs to the comfortable booth seating – giving it those Brooklyn diner vibes. Not to mention the highly talented singer beating out soulful classics.
With multiple award wins regionally and its New York branch renowned as the best pizza in town, we couldn’t wait to get stuck into the Italian food – all served sharing style with requests for seconds catered for. (Trust us when you taste how good the croquettes and bruschetta is you won’t be able to help yourself!)
Pizza dishes included Motorino’s special Soppressata Piccante, Classic Margherita, Bresaola and Truffle & Mushroom and it’s fair to say these did not disappoint.With a firm but thin base and light airy crust we did have to ask how they got it just so perfect and the secret lies in the early morning preparation and the 3-tonne traditional Neopolitan Acunto pizza oven, maintaining a consistent 350 °C temperature at all times.
The pasta main was intended to hit us across multiple senses – Cacio e pepe was prepared directly at our table by the chef who mixed the al dente pasta in a hollowed cheese wheel whilst the delicious aroma had us salivating in anticipation.
The chef reappeared to serve the tiramisu – freshly coating it with a sprinkle of cocoa. Perfectly creamy with just the right amount of sweetness and coffee, we would go as far to say it is one of Dubai’s best!
We washed our food down with the traditional Italian digestif of limoncello, suitably satisfied and ready to party the night away.
